The National Energy Security Center was constructed as the corporate headquarters for Pro2Serve.  Pro2Serve’s real estate developer, Igawaga, Inc., brought in Merit Construction to build the three-story, 105,000-square-foot office complex was first building in the new Science and Technology Park at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The L-shaped concrete and steel structure features masonry veneer on micropile foundations, a three-story atrium entrance and two wings of office space. In addition, the building has access control and designated limited-access areas to increase security and prevent unauthorized entry onto the site.

Some of the building’s “green” features include a white TPO roof that is reflective and energy efficient, as well as native landscaping, natural daylighting, low-E glass and extra insulation to reduce the amount of heat lost in cold weather.
