ALCOA (WATE) – It is back to school time for some kids in East Tennessee, and high school students in Alcoa are headed into a brand new school.
The new school was finished over the summer, and classes began Thursday. Just last week the school held an open house to help prepare students and parents for the upcoming year.
“Coming into it I was really excited, you know a new school, it’s like gorgeous, brand new, but that’s basically our home over there and it’s kind of different coming into this bigger atmosphere,” said student Demi Coleman.
She is part of what will be the first graduating class at the new Alcoa High School.
