As Project Executive, Mac Byers brings over 40 years of construction management experience to Merit. Having overseen more than $1.6B in projects throughout his career, his extensive expertise spans various project delivery methods, preconstruction services, and project management. Having worked as both as a general contractor and owner’s representative, Mr. Byers offers a unique perspective that ensures project success. Guided by his personal mantra of being a “True Professional pursuing Total Project Success for all Stakeholders” he has successfully led numerous projects to completion.

A notable example of his leadership is the Portola High School. This $126M, 260,000 sq ft full comprehensive high school project was given an “impossible” 18-month construction schedule. With Mr. Byers leadership and strategic planning, the project was completed on time, under budget, and without any subcontractor claims. The project was later awarded Engineering News Records national prestigious 2017 title of “ENR 2017 Best of the Best” for K-12 projects.

Mr. Byers holds a Bachelor of Science in construction management from Arizona State University (1982) and a Masters in Ethical Leadership from Claremont Lincoln University (2020).
