Aaron Gilreath brings extensive construction expertise to Merit, with a strong background in general contracting, construction management, and design/build delivery methods. His diverse project experience spans a wide range of sectors, including hospitality, healthcare, athletics, retail, commercial, industrial, institutional/government, religious, entertainment, and specialty projects. Aaron has been involved in numerous projects from the initial concept stage through to project completion and final handover to the owner.

Here are some highlights of Aaron’s project experience:

• Healthcare – Multiple facilities across East Tennessee including renovations, additions, and new constructions including primary care facilities, dental, laboratories, linear accelerators, and surgery centers with individual doctor/groups, healthcare providers such as Tennova and Covenant health.
• Hospitality – Several projects with the Wilderness at the Smokies including Soaky Mountain Waterpark restaurant building, retail building, ticket sales building, restroom building, pump house buildings, and storage buildings, Interior renovation to the Resort for the candy cabin area, and multiple Villa buildings.
• Entertainment – Gatlinburg SkyPark buildings and site development including the new Base Building/Ticket sales building, West Plaza development and the new restaurant/restroom facility.
• Institutional – Multiple Regions banks facilities across Tennessee with some projects in North Carolina and South Carolina consisting of new construction and renovations.
• Government – Renovations/new construction of several fire departments in Knoxville City/County, military recruiting office renovations, high school additions/renovations/new construction, alterations/improvements to city parks, and library construction/renovations.
• Higher Education – Renovations/new construction for multiple buildings for universities including East Tennessee Sate University, Northeast State Technical Community College, University of Tennessee, and Delta State University.
• Retail – Safe Splash swim/spa, Louisville Mercantile, Point Blank Range/Retail, Gatlinburg SkyPark Retail.

Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering from East Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Construction Management from Western Carolina University. He holds general contractor licenses in Tennessee, North Carolina, and South Carolina. Aaron is also an active member of Sevier Heights Baptist Church. He and his wife, Candice, reside in Knoxville.
